World class actress, sought-after producer and national best-selling author… Victoria Principal has played a key role in the entertainment field for over thirty years, starring in numerous acclaimed movies and television series, producing a wide range of films and writing four books about women’s health.
Along the way, Victoria has been the recipient of two Golden Globe nominations, including “Most Promising Newcomer” (for her role as Paul Newman’s mistress in “The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean”) and “Best Actress in a Dramatic Series” (for her role as Pamela Barnes Ewing on “Dallas”). In 1995, she was awarded Entertainment Business Woman of the Year as well as the NIMA for Best Female Infomercial Producer and Performer.
Yet what Victoria is most proud of and passionate about today is Principal Secret® and her breakthrough innovations in skin care. In 1989, Victoria set out to find a regimen for her sensitive skin, and with the help of leading skin care experts, she succeeded. Her quest to create an affordable and effective skin care line for others had begun. Combining her experience in the spotlight and intuitive understanding of people with skin care issues, Victoria became an eager “student”, and discovered that the ingredients she needed to help people maintain healthy, beautiful skin didn’t exist… yet.
In 1991, Principal Secret®
was launched and Victoria has been at the forefront of skin care ever
since, pioneering products such as Advanced®,
her vitamin-based line and Reclaim®,
her revolutionary age-fighting line with Argireline™. For
her entrepreneurship and business success, Victoria received an honorary
degree from Drexel University in 1995 and was asked to be a guest speaker
at The Drexel University Business School. In 2000, she became a member
of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
Today, Principal Secret® is an internationally-recognized skin care
and cosmetics company, with over a 100-person team of enthusiastic
experts serving customers worldwide. For the next four years, a portion
of Principal Secret® proceeds will go to benefit the survivors of Hurricane
Katrina and Hurricane Rita. Victoria has partnered with George Washington
Hospital (Washington, D.C.) and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles,
CA) to provide Principal Secret® products – deemed safe to use
while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments - to people
battling cancer. From 1995 to 2001, Victoria was co-chairperson for
Victory Over Violence. Since then, Principal Secret® has donated a portion
of its proceeds as well as its products to the Los Angeles Good Shepherd
Shelter and Shelter from the Storm for battered women and children
to help women and their families begin new, healthier lives.
Forever inspired by her customers, Victoria’s next product line will debut in 2009 and encompass the latest skin care ingredients and unique benefits Principal Secret® is known for and customers have come to trust.
Also in 2010, Victoria will join five other passengers on Richard Branson’s
first Virgin Galactic commercial flight SpaceShipTwo into space.
